Tappy

It's been raining for about six billion years.

Here are the deeply insightful things I've had in my brain the last 16 hours:

a) Cab is definitely mostly a husky or malamute. Maybe there's some Great Pyrenees in there SOMEWHERE, but after doing some "research" and some "observation" it's pretty apparent he's mostly husky. Also, the dogs are still in love. Also, they made a huge mess in the garage with the birdseed, possibly during a wrestling match/love making session.

b) Smitten Dogs-1, Birdseed-0.

c) Humidity-3, my hair-0.

d) I wish I could find my other black boot, the one that makes tappy noises when I walk on hard surfaces.

e) I feel like J and I haven't really gotten to talk all week, except for brief conversations about needing toilet paper or how Monk has Easter on the brain (it's a good thing I have a psychiatrist, you think, alarmed) or about is it raining? Yes, it's still raining. And brief snatches of things about stuff going on at his job. I'm looking forward to the weekend, because we have no obligations and I want to a) nap and b) hang out with my husband. I don't know where these days go.

f) Sleep-0, Cat Biting My Thumb to Wake Me Up Because He Wants Me To Watch Him Play With A Wrinkle In The Sheet-13.

g) New Black Pants-0, Pet Hair-827.

Time for work!

Hey! I want this to be a delurking day, because I want to know who you people are. I know it's not officially delurking day, I know, but I know you are here. I know! I have site meter! I can see you! (Not really. I can't really see anything but my monitor and all the dog hair on my pants.) But I want to know the following, anyway, even if you comment all the time (bless your patient souls). Everybody tell me what your favorite pie flavor is, whether or not you hang up your pants or wad them into a drawer, what you dreamed about last night, what you want for Christmas this year, and what you would most like to be doing this afternoon. It'll be fun, I swear!

I'll go first! My favorite pie is coconut cream (mmm, creamy), and I mostly wad up my pants into tangled messes in my drawers. And then moan and complain a lot about having to iron, and then just wear a skirt anyway because I would rather shave my legs than iron pants. I dreamed about my graying hair last night (how shallow can a dream be?) and about how I cut it off. For Christmas this year, I really am wanting one of these. This afternoon, I would most like to be lying on a sunny forest floor somewhere, on a blanket, in a world where millipedes do not exist. I would have about eight billion pets frolicking around me, and my husband next to me, and we would take a nice long nap. Also, there would be a stream. Also, maybe some hot chocolate.

Okay! Go!

My favorite kind of pie is peanut butter cup. I hang up my work pants but all my jeans live in a drawer (theoretically) folded. I don't know what I dreamed about last night--I almost never remember my dreams. I want a DSLR and a macro lens, but not for Christmas because that would be too expensive of a present. This afternoon I would most like to be picking out a dog for us to have, because I really, really want a dog.

My favorite pie is banana cream. I hang up all my pants because I refuse to iron. I dreamt last night that someone broke into our house. For Christmas, I want a Mac (with Photoshop). This afternoon, I want to curl up with the kitties and a new book and just listen to the rain (it's been raining here for 4 days straight now).

My favorite pie is apple with LOTS of crust. You can have the apples. I just want their goo and of course the crust. I fold or wad pants. I don't iron. Luckily, I can wear a lot of jeans. I dreamt we sold our house. For Christmas I want......an iphone. This afternoon I would like to sleep.

Ooh! My favorite pah is SO HARD TO CHOOSE. I guess I'll say Key Lime although a good chocolate pie is hard to beat. My pants are hung up, thanks to my husband who taught me that. Shockingly, I don't remember my dream last night (I usually have very vivid ones and remember them). For Christmas I want some baby stuff. And this afternoon, I would like to have done some productive work and be drinking a caff-free Coke.

I love the scorecard.

Favorite pie: sour cherry. Or chocolate pudding pie with Cool Whip and a graham cracker crust and little chocolate shavings on the cool whip.

I fold my pants on a shelf.

I dreamed that my mother-in-law was visiting. That was a painful wake-up, let me tell you. "Whew!" followed by "OH GOD."

What I want for Christmas is a huge stack of books and lots of Mrs. Meyer's lemon verbena-scented products.

What I would most like to do this afternoon is eat leftover pizza followed by a pint of Dove ice cream, then blog my little heart out.

1. I do not like pie. I know, everyone loves pie, but not me. Especially fruit pie. I do not like hot fruit.
2. I neatly fold and put my pants in drawers. I have a really small closet.
3. I dreamed about my old co-workers. It was very weird and they were mean to me - much like they were at my old job.
4. I would like a DVD player that actually plays DVDs. Ours plays about 15% of them.
5. I would LOVE to be at home with my husband on the couch watching moives with a new DVD player.

Hmmm, I love peanut butter/choclate pie, or a really good apple pie. I tend to throw my pants on the floor or crumple them in to my drawers. I refuse to iron too, but I throw them in they dryer while I shower. I almost never remember my dreams especially last night. For christmas I want a Sirius Stiletto, which is an aweseom satellite radio/mp3 player combo. I'd like to be sleeping, home alone this afternoon or at the mall buying fall pants.....(you know, to throw on the floor in a ball)

Chocolate cream, but coconut cream is a close second. Jeans in a drawer, any nice pants I have (2, that I pretty much never wear)) hang in the closet. As an aside, I noticed a woman cutting her grass today who was dressed nicer than I was. Don't remember my dream last night, though I DO remember that I had one. I'm with Jess on the camera, but I DO want it for Christmas, don't care that it's expensive, my husband OWES me, baby. I want the Nikon D200 to be exact. This afternoon I wish I could be doing anything except what I have to do, which is cleaning, cleaning and more cleaning to get ready for a party on Saturday.

3. I don't remember any of my dreams last night.
4. Ooh, I'm not sure. I haven't even started thinking about Christmas yet because I was focused on today - MY BIRTHDAY!
5.Well, my office is going to the state fair this afternoon, so that should be pretty fun. It'll do until tomorrow, when I have the day off from work! Yay!

And I'm glad you asked questions because I wouldn't have known what to say to delurk otherwise!

Okay! I'll bite! I've been lurking for months and never commented (though I almost did in order to warn you against taking the boring, easy, leave-time-for-art job, because I know from experience it wouldn't).

Pie: Boston Cream Pie. Oh, right, not actually a pie. Hmm. Maybe Grasshopper? Or peach. I do like me a good peach pie, hot, with ice cream. And pumpkin pie, but only on Thanksgiving, crammed onto a dessert plate with at least two other varieties.

Pants: folded on a shelf. This may wrinkle them, but I am not such a sharply groomed person that you'd, um, notice.

Dream: scenery. Buttes, mesas in the snow with changing aspen, twisted mini-mountains, deep swimmable desert pools. My favorite kind of dream.

Christmas: oh my god, is it time to think of Christmas presents already? Well. Perhaps I would like a book. Or another bookshelf to keep all of the books I have already gotten this year and don't have room to house.

This afternoon: I'd like to go for a run in this beautiful fall weather, help my son use his new way-cool art set, maybe go for a family walk around the neighborhood, have some yummy clam chowdah (way to make me salivate, dear Tessie). What I will actually do: work until near-dark, run home, frantically make dinner, then pile in the family car for a trip to the Big City to sleep on someone's floor.

Anyway, I do love your blog. I check it daily. Thank you!

I love how many of our afternoon wishes involve a) laying on a piece of furniture b) books or c) tv. Also, in my rush this morning, I forgot to link what I wanted, which is a mushroom shaped kitchen timer. With a face.

This is fun!

Oh – I laughed so hard at the score between your pants and the cat hair.

I hope you and J. get to hang out with each other very soon. It is important.

Ok – here goes:

Favorite Pie:
Oh, my. Anything with a fantastic crust, really. But, I do melt when authentic Key Lime pie is available, or a yummy chocolate cream.

Pants situation:
I hang them up. I don’t mind ironing every now and again on a lazy Sunday afternoon, but I do mind shaving my legs. Because I sneeze.

Dream:
A very, very weird, vivid dream about some of my Mormon cousins. Apparently, they were building a weird commune house and everything had to be completely and totally white. I snagged my favorite cousin, B., and we started changing all the light fixtures to really pretty, vibrantly colored blown glass fixtures. With a lot of reds and blues. Then it was time for some strange, large meal with music. Very weird. I can’t shake it, either.

Christmas Present:
First – Tessie, last year A. got me a Le Creuset Dutch Oven (Orange to red) and I AM STILL WAKING ON AIR. I am not kidding; I use it at least six out of seven days. So worth every penny. I love A. SO MUCH. I’ll post a very geeky picture of me HUGGING the dutch oven last Christmas. Give me BR’s or your mom’s e-mail and I will campaign on your behalf.

Oh, now what do I want? I suck at this. Oh, what I really want is a Kitchen Aid food processor.

This afternoon: I’d like to wrap up a productive day (so quit messing around on blogs already!) then wander around downtown shops and pick out some new bras. Yes, that is really what I want to do! Then I want to take the doggies for a walk to wear them out so we can all curl up and watch NETWORK TV.

Peach Pie! Mmm.
Pants folded in a drawer.
No dreams last night, I slept soundly.
For Christmas I'd really like a Kitchen Aid mixer & an ipod. I probably won't get either this year.

I forgot about the afternoon. Ideally, I'd be laying on a sunny, warm beach with a good book or my sister there to have good conversation and laughs.

Wait, what if I don't answer all the questions?

John and I got 99 cent chocolate pie at Waffle House at one in the morning this weekend. It was kind of awful. I'm not so much for pie.

The mushroom timer is amazing, and I will probably end up slacking off and looking at that website now to see what else they have.

I've been so bad at commenting lately!

LOVE!

Hi! My favorite pie would probably be cherry....I hang up everything and don't even own an iron! OMG last night I dreamed that my husband and I took some sort of drug (VERY strange since I've never had a drug in my life....well, an illegal one, you know) and we had to go to lunch with my mother after we took it...I woke up in a cold sweat - lol. Um, for Christmas I want a diamond anniversary band (10 years) that matches my wedding ring. This afternoon I would love to be reading and/or sleeping cuz it's been raining here in Michigan all day too :)

1. Pumpkin Pie, with a delicious crust, as the crust is very important.
2. I hang my pants, but I also iron them because my closet is all squished and therefore there is no real benefit to hanging
3. I dreamed that my future sister-in-law told me that after I get married, I can vote. Hmmm . . . there's a great deal of subtext there.
4. I would like a plane ticket (unlikely) or Jon Stewart, with a bow.
5. anywhere but here

Delurking: Pixelpi pointed me here, and I love the way you write about your pets, your struggles with the medications, and your art. It all rings so true; you express things I feel myself, only you do it so much more eloquently.

Okay, enough fangirling. The assignment: Key Lime pie, pants wadded, no memory of a dream (sorry), a phase alternator for my LED lightstrip, and um... knitting and napping. It's my day off, so I got to do what I most wanted. :D

I think peach is my favorite pie, but only if it's really really good. Fresh, juicy peaches and not too much goopy jello type stuff.

I often have really vivid "movie" dreams with complicated plots and weird twists, and I remember them the next day but not for long.

Um, about pants. Some of them hang in closet, most are folded in a messy and half-assed way on a shelf on a bookcase. With books, too. I do not iron clothes if I can avoid it and so far, I can avoid it always!

I'd like to just go straight to bed, but the kitchen's a total mess, I need to make lunch for my kids to take to school tomorrow, and so forth. Instead, I'm sitting here reading blogs! It's not the afternoon, but since it's now 12:18 AM... I don't know how to answer about this afternoon.

Thanks for asking! Can't think of any other questions and too lazy to look back!

Don't have time for everything, but my favorite pie is apple (with vanilla ice cream, please). I fold my pants or hang them up. Don't remember what I dreamed, but Mr. Pi spoke in his sleep and said 2 words: "Brown toe." Haven't decided on a Christmas present yet. This afternoon I want to be in California with my sister getting ready for her wedding.

Sorry I'm commenting late. Haven't had a chance to read blogs lately, as I've been painting my son's room....
*ahem*
1. I. Love. Pie. And cannot possibly pick a favorite. Perhaps my mom's homemade apple--which I refuse to make for myself even though I have the recipe 'cause it's just. not. the. same. And her homemade pumpkin pie, too--which I do make 'cause I have no excuse since the recipe is on the back of the can of pumpkin. And I kick @$$ at making pie crust.

2. Slacks are hanging up in closet (REFUSE to iron), probably collecting dust as I hardly ever wear them. Jeans get folded and put in a drawer or shoved on the shelf in the closet--IF I actually manage to get all the laundry done and therefore, run out of drawer space.

3. Don't remember any dreams recently. Sorry.

4. Christmas? I want money. Or for someone to spend their money on me in the same way I would: new clothes for me (that fit and are comfortable and not frumpy), new clothes and shoes for the kids (especially the girls), a new necklace, a swingset for the kids, and a NEW ROOF.

5. This afternoon I would rather be at home, reading a good book than at a 7-year old's b-day party at the Y.

My favorite pie...i have to pick just one? Okay I would have to say rhubarb custard. Jeans go in the drawer, work pants get hung. I had a nightmare last night about giant robots taking over when i was in college (weird, i know). What i really want for Christmas would be a new dining table with chairs! It's my birthday today, so we're going out for dinner after work!

I love pie in this order, lemon merengue, key lime, cherry, and chocolate. This is very important since I do not like cake. Unless it is icecream cake, and then it is not really cake anymore. I hang up work pants by folding them over the hanger so they always have weird creases anyway. Jeans get folded onto a shelf. Did not dream at all last night, it is a rare thing for me. I have the hardest time thinking about what I want for Christmas since in my family we do secret santa and therefore only get one present, so you better make it good. I better start thinking of something soon since we draw names on Thanksgiving! This afternoon I would love to go get a puppy, min pin to be exact! :o)

My favorite pie is lemon cheesecake.
I hang all pants, as I hate when drawers get overfull and then stuck, and I have a huge closet of hugeness in which I sometimes sit and cry (it's a very nice place to cry).
I don't often remember my dreams, but I woke up exhausted as if I had been battling all night, or running. It was horrible.
For Christmas, I desperately want a bed that doesn't leave me sore and more tired in the morning. I'm still torn on the tempurpedic vs. intelligel thing.
This afternoon I would really like to be napping in the hot sun, instead of under florescent lighting with my space heater at work.
